SMS OTP verification and sign-up in Saudi Arabia
Use SMS OTP for sign-up and login in your Saudi application. Learn what to measure, how to test delivery and how to integrate Tawked Verify.
Tawked Verify sends an SMS OTP code to a Saudi mobile number and checks it in two API calls, at SAR 0.09 per code sent. Users do not need to create another password, but better sign-up completion is not guaranteed. Measure the result in your application before rolling it out.
Sign in with a code
Your application sends a code to the user’s phone and asks them to enter it. Once verified, your application creates the session. The code confirms access to the number, not the person’s identity on its own.
Make the phone field clear, show when the code expires and allow retries within your protection limits. Enable autofill where the user’s device supports it to reduce manual entry.
Measure sign-up completion
Compare the number of people who start sign-up with those who finish it. Track code delivery time, resend attempts and incorrect phone numbers, then compare results with your previous flow under similar conditions.
Fewer steps may not improve completion if delivery is slow or users cannot tell what to do next. Improve instructions and error messages alongside the technical integration.
Integrate SMS OTP
Create an account and application in Tawked, then create a test key in the Keys tab. Test sending to the phone you signed up with using /v1/verify/start, and check the code using /v1/verify/check.
After application approval, create a live key and use it from your server. Codes come from Tawked’s sender ID and name your reviewed application in the text. See Tawked Verify pricing for current charges.
