Questions about Tawked Email
What is Tawked Email?
Tawked Email is a Saudi transactional email service: your system sends order confirmations, invoices and sign-in links from your own domain through an API, from 1 halala a message from your balance, with nothing monthly. It is in early access today.
Can Tawked Email send sign-in codes?
Yes. The sign-in codes and links your system generates are transactional mail, and Tawked Email sends them from your business domain like any other message. The verification codes Tawked makes go by SMS, from Tawked Verify, whose old email channel is retired.
What does a message cost, and when is it refunded?
Each message on Tawked Email costs 1 halala from your balance: SAR 10 for 1,000 messages, with nothing monthly. The price is taken when you send, and returned to your balance once if the message bounces, is rejected or cannot be sent. A message the recipient reports as spam keeps its price, because it was delivered.
Can I send from Gmail or Outlook instead of my own domain?
No. Sending on Tawked Email is from your business domain only, such as orders@nadastore.sa, so public mailbox domains like gmail.com and outlook.com are not accepted. You verify your domain with three CNAME records you add at your domain's host.
Why do my store's emails land in spam?
Every message from Tawked Email is signed in your domain's name with DKIM from the three records, so receiving servers know it is yours, in line with your domain's DMARC policy. Sending stops to an address that bounced for good or complained, before anything is charged. What you write and who you send to still count with the receiving servers.
Does it work with SMTP?
No. The way into Tawked Email today is its API alone: one POST request per message with a live key. Request examples in cURL, Node.js and PHP are in the docs.
Can I send marketing email or newsletters with it?
No. Transactional mail is all Tawked Email sends: a message your customer expects because they did something, such as an order confirmation, an invoice or a sign-in link. Newsletters, offers and bulk sends are not what it is for, and each request has one recipient.
My store is on Salla or Zid. Is it for me?
If your store has its own domain and a system that sends its mail through an API, Tawked Email suits you. It has no direct link with Salla or Zid today that sends a store's mail on its own.
What does Tawked keep of my messages?
Of each message, Tawked Email keeps the sender and recipient addresses, the subject, your reference and its events, for your message log. The body of the message is not stored; it stays with your system.
How many messages a day, and how many domains?
Each account sends up to 2,000 messages a day on Tawked Email, and Tawked's team raises the limit when needed. Each application holds up to 5 domains, each request has one recipient, and a message is up to 512 KB.
Does it take an Arabic sender name and an Arabic domain?
Yes. Sender names, subjects and domains can all be Arabic on Tawked Email: a sender name such as «متجر الندى», an Arabic subject, and an Arabic domain such as متجر-الندى.السعودية that your customer reads in Arabic, its records written in its Latin form.
How do I get early access?
You request early access to Tawked Email from the Tawked console: pick what you send, your messages a month, and type your domain. Tawked's team reviews every request and tells you its decision in the console and by email; if a request is not accepted you learn why and can send a new one.
